10 Best Google Picasa Alternatives To Manage Your Photos

Ere Google killed it, and Google Picasa was one of the best digital image management and editing services. Not just the service let you organize and manage all your photos, but it also allowed users to perform some basic photo editing. One of my desired features of Google Picasa was organizing images based on folders, tags, and much more, which allowed me to categorize my pictures and find them instantly

Thus, While Google Photos, which replaced Google Picasa, offers related features, it never felt intuitive and easy to use as the latter. Fortunately, there are tons of new and old services out there that give almost all the features that made Google Picasa such an excellent image management service. In this post, we list the ten best Google Picasa Alternatives that you should do in 2020.

Adobe Lightroom CC

Google Picasa Alternative

Adobe Lightroom CC is the best digital image management and editing program on the market right now. If you can pay the subscription price, Adobe Lightroom CC will provide you all the features that you want right at your fingertips. My preferred element of Adobe Lightroom CC is its Digital Asset Management library or DAM, which permits users to import all their images in the program & then categorize and organize them based on their preferences. One of the best parts about Adobe Lightroom CC is that all your photos are saved on the cloud; thus, no matter which device you are using, you can reach all your photos. This means that you won’t waste your photos even when your primary machine fails.

In Short, Adobe Lightroom CC is a great app. You receive access to all the Photo Editing Tools that you need. Of brightness to contrast to color correction, so all devices come with easy to use sliders which makes Adobe Lightroom CC a great option even for beginners. Also, Lightroom comes with Android and iOS apps that let users access and edit photos, even on the go. Lightroom’s helpful feature is creating and sharing shareable links enabling users to share photos with friends, clients, or family quickly. One only thing that holds it back for me as a past Google Picasa user is its pricing. If you are okay with Adobe’sAdobe’s pricing, Lightroom CC will take everything you can ask from an image management service.

IrfanView

Google Picasa Alternative

IrfanView is a free photo organizer and viewer for Windows, which happens to be very light in size and resource requirements. That makes it an excellent software for users who use older generations of Windows PC and want something lean and light. Now, coming just at 3.0 MB, IrfanView doesn’t take any computer space and can work on any device. So, One of the notable benefits of using Google Picasa was that it was easier on the resources, & in that regard, IrfanView excels quite a bit.

Thus, While IrfanView is a bit lighter on the features, it does bring all the essential elements to the table. It permits you to comfortably view your entire library in thumbnail form, open any image, support almost all the image formats, convert and optimize images for sharing, and support batch processing of images. Collection of these features package that is just 3.0 MB in size and free to download and use. I suggest what I did not like here.

Flickr and Amazon Prime Photos

Google Picasa Alternative

For those viewing correctly for a storage solution, Amazon Prime Photos play. Flickr is one of the most excellent photo management and sharing apps globally, and it is relatively easy to use. As well, Once you are signed up there, you can explore Flickr to understand how incredible its service is. This provides its users with the capability to save 1000 photos for free, after which the service is free of cost. You can create your collections, albums, and share the same with your family and friends. Flickr is available as an app for iOS and Android, and you can use a similar account on all your devices.

Amazon Prime Photos is a service like Picasa and Flickr in terms of storage. Similar Picasa uses a Google account, and Flickr uses a Yahoo account, Amazon Prime Photos uses an Amazon account. Including an eligible Prime membership, you receive free storage for all of your photos in Amazon Cloud Drive and an additional 5.5 GB of free storage space for personal video and document storage. You can download the Amazon Prime app to add photos from your Android or iOS device or install the Cloud Drive app for PC & Mac to add images from your computer.

Photoscape

Google Picasa Alternative

Utilizing Photoscape can be a fun experience, whether for editing, enhancing, or creating something special. This boasts a vast array of basic editing and fixing features, making collages, batch editing, making gifs using multiple photos, splitting photos, and screen capture, among new things. While this app does not offer the same cloud storage that Picasa does, it is one of the most ingenious free photo editing applications. It’s a down to earth photo editing app more than anything else.

Windows Photo Gallery

Google Picasa Alternative

Windows Photo Gallery is an app that will make you feel right at home. This has one of the very simple and easy to use layouts you will find on any photo editing app. This does not offer you the storage solution that Picasa does, though it works great if you are watching to manage all the pictures on your desktop.

Its photo editing features are somewhat decent, and it allows easy uploading to OneDrive, YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, and Vimeo. Besides basic editing, you can add slideshows, captions, panoramas, photo fuses, make collages, and movies. Only one feature that makes it stand out is its capacity to save the people’s names tagged and geo-tag information direct to the file’s metadata.

Phototheca

Google Picasa Alternative

Phototheca is one of my preferred free image management software for Windows. While it comes with a paid plan, I think the free program will be enough to fill most users’users’ needs. Just One of my favorite features of Phototheca is its large image organizational features that allow users to import images and organize them using folders, smart searches, tags, and more. I also love that Phototheca will enable me to create shared folders. This feature is excellent for sharing photos with friends and family, where you are not the just contributor. All the images imported into a shared folder are available to all the parties, no matter who uploads the pictures, it’s made available to all the users.

Phototheca, too supports extensive search capabilities allowing users to search for images in seconds. You can also search for photos using names, descriptions, locations, tags, and other metadata elements. Another useful feature of Phototheca is its seamless integration with services such as Google Photos, Twitter, and Flickr, allowing users to share photos with their followers easily. Other cool features include duplicate detection, dual view, smart albums, and photo vault, among other things. I like Phototheca, and in my opinion, it is a reliable Google Picasa alternative.

FastStone Image Viewer

Google Picasa Alternative

Notwithstanding what its name suggests, FastStone Image Viewer is more than just a photo viewing app. You can quickly organize your photos, add tags, transfer pictures to desired folders, or even add folders to favorites. It lets you make necessary edits like cropping, adjusting the light, curves colors, adding effects, etc. However, if you’re not satisfied with its editing abilities, FastStone itself gives you a choice to use an external editing program, talk about moving too modest.

ACDSee

Google Picasa Alternative

The ACDSee started as a standalone image viewer, but new features were added over time, and now it has become a perfect digital photo management app just like Picasa. So, You can organize vast libraries of photos in chronological order and categorize them based on geolocation, type of image, rating, etc. Moreover, you can create folders with proper keywords and tags. The most valuable part about ACDSee is that it has the Face Detection feature introduced in the recent Photo Studio version. Similar Google Photos, the software can now recognize similar-looking faces and create a designated folder for fast access. You can also tag photos with similar looks; in fact, the system fails to do so.

Besides that, ACDSee offers online integration with OneDrive and Dropbox, and you have a mobile app to transfer photos from your smartphone to the computer seamlessly. If you are studying for a complete solution like Picasa, which has editing, smart organization, batch processing, and modern features like face recognition, then ACDSee is the ideal pick.

Photobucket

Google Picasa Alternative

One of Picasa’s fittest features was its online Picasa Web portal, where you could upload photos and share albums from any device. Therefore if you are watching for a similar web service that offers cloud storage without reducing image quality, then Photobucket is a reliable alternative. You can upload up to 250 images free of cost, and after that, you will have to pay a monthly charge of $5.099. But the most useful part is that you get no ads, no reduction in image quality, and superior security. To be clear, Photobucket uses 255 Bit RSA Encryption to have your account and images secure on the internet.

Moreover, Photobucket has Secure Private Album Sharing, which allows you to have full control over who can access the photos. That is one of the issues with Google Photos albums, and I am glad that Photobucket offers an extra layer of security over album sharing. To end, if you want a replacement for Picasa Web, next Photobucket is the right choice.

DigiKam

Google Picasa Alternative

DigiKam is a powerful photo management software that is free and open-source. It is available on Windows, Linux, and macOS, so that is excellent. This software is generally used by professionals to organize all their digital media assets, although I would recommend it to everyone to check for a smart Picasa alternative. DigiKam can easily handle the vast bulk of images (other than 100,000 copies to provide you a ballpark figure) and process the models based on their metadata. Aside from PNG, JPEG, and numerous other media formats, DigiKam is cooperative with RAW images, and you can edit them on the fly.

DigiKam brings advanced tools like cage transform, sharpening, and many powerful filters for you to try reading about editing. Not to consider, you also get features like facial recognition, geo-tagging, smart categorization, and slideshow creator without paying a dime. I would say DigiKam is a reliable Picasa alternative, and you should try it once.

Which Google Picasa Alternatives You Chose?

This ends our article on the best Google Picasa alternatives that you can use. All these apps discussed here have been tested personally by me so I can vouch for them. Depending on your specifications, one piece of software will serve you better than the others. For instance, if you just see for storage, Amazon Prime photos are a great option. Though, it is not meant for editing.

However, apps like Fastone and IrfanView are famous for the on-device organization but don’t offer cloud storage. There is also Adobe Lightroom, which does everything but costs plenty. Therefore you see, you have a lot of options to choose from. Once you have found your favorite Google Picasa alternative, let us know in the comments part below about which one you went with.
